About Harry Brewster

In the summer of 1993, I decided to put one
of my passions to work. A passion that started in my youth
and continued until this day. From a child’s perspective I
wanted to be the strong man, the super heroes, the athlete,
the adventurer.
As time went on, I participated in the usual organized
sports--track, football and a love for the outdoors,
running in the woods, nature walks, and outings. But what
took precedence in my love of activity was an interest in
marital arts and a movie star hero, Bruce Lee. He was a
living comic book super hero. In my endeavors to learn more
about how he got his body to look and perform like that, I
discovered that he had studied boxing. I noticed boxer’s
from my surroundings like Howard Davis Jr, who won a gold
medal in the Olympics in 1976. I took a few karate classes
and joined a boxing gym.
The program was named after Gerry Cooney, a professional
boxer from my home town who challenged Larry Holms for the
heavy weight championship. He took me into New York City to
Gleason’s Gym where I met his trainer. Many champions
trained there. I sparred and trained with them. I also
competed in boxing events, state championships, and the
golden gloves. I did very well and learned a lot.
One day it dawned on me….”Hey, how about
making a career out of what you love most” and I became a
Certified Trainer and shared the good feeling of being fit
and healthy with everyone. It was the girlfriend of a
friend of mine who introduced me to personal training and
started me off with my first gig at Bally’s Gym in Long
Island. Then it was on to New York City where I trained my
first client at a Bally’s on 75th and
Broadway.
My family and I moved to Atlanta in the summer of 1994
where I now reside. That was the real proving grounds of my
craft. I’ve worked with hundreds of clients of all ages,
shapes, sizes, and walks of life. I can say it has been a
great experience, the gyms I have worked out of include:
Gold’s Gym, Biggs Morrison, Run N’ Shoot, Art of Boxing, in
City Parks running Boot Camp ATL, my client’s homes, as
well as managing Sweat City Boxing.
Hundreds of clients later, I would say the experience has
shown me people want the same things—to look good is first
most often, but when they start feeling good too, they
discover the deeper benefit of good health. Being part of
that process and watching them grow into an improved,
restructured, reformed version of themselves and seeing the
confidence grow is rewarding in many ways.
I believe the human body is a gift with many dimensions yet
to be unlocked and one that holds the keys to greater human
potential. It is my quest to be open and explore all the
great arts and science of unlocking these gifts, to learn
them, to share them, and grow with this knowledge and
wisdom.
